Firstly, retrograde is done, finishers on the 3rd June.. secondly, retrograde is over finished on the 3rd of june!!! I’m still feeling the after effects of it so if you, like me, are quite sensitive to planetary action then it’ll be a few more days then you’ll start to feel more grounded!

If you have been feeling lost, not feeling like yourself, have been processing a lot of shit from the past, floating through most of May.. welcome to the tempestuous vibrations of retrograde. We are ‘blessed’ with four of these this year.. January, this one and still two moooooreeeeee! Ahhhh! Let’s hope they aren’t as intense as this last one.

For those unaware of what runes are.. letters in an alphabet used to write germanic languages, inspired by the latin alphabet of the Romans. Earliest runic inscriptions dates back to ca 150 AD.. these were used alongside our modern day alphabet until the 14th Century on broaches & used in common market places.

The runic alphabet traditionally holds 24 letters, sometimes sets come with a blank stone called Odin’s Rune that is meant to symbolise that which is not meant to be known yet. Odin is the Norse God who sacrificed an eye to see everything that happens in the world, as such, if you got this rune it implied that it wasn’t time for certain information to be divulged to us mere mortals yet and we should simply trust in the divine timing of life.

The Elder Futhark runic alphabet is split up into 3 equal parts of eight runes each: Freyr’s Aett, Heimdall’s Aett, and Tyr’s Aett(“aett” meaning family). These three parts tell the story of life’s cycles. The first set of runes is representative of finding our footing in the material plane and the accumulation of worldly possessions. As such, it holds runes symbolising things like cattle (the main indicator of wealth in those times), communication, and vigour. The next set of runes tells of our increasing maturity and growth, it holds runes such as obstacles, fate, and harvest/abundance. The final set of runes portrays our developing spirituality and legacy. It includes runes such as birth, community, intuition, and inheritance. - twowander.com

For today, I will be reading a generic positive message for everyone from the runes used today.

1 Isa - Ice

Clarity, Status, Challenges, Introspection, Watching & Waiting

To me this feels like coming out of retrograde and everything we have individually gone through.. perhaps you’ve rocked out of it with more clarity than you’ve had before or it is something you are still waiting for!..

We have all been somehow on a retrospective journey. I know the accumulation of that for me was sitting in a friends bbq with a bunch of soul sisters and crying about loss in general. Loss of what has been and what has been made for my future. I don’t often cry in front of people but it was rolling out very comfortably, unashamedly and felt beautifully wholesome and non-judgemental with the company at that time.

One of my friends put it so eloquently, ‘mourning the past me and the future me with decisions that have been taken from me’. This resonated deeply with me but it wasn’t something I could have put into words properly myself. Thank you lovely you know who you are.

If you have been going through your own personal challenges, whatever that may be for you, know that things should start to have clarity.

By this I mean.. retrogrades gift, as was explained to me by another wonderful soul sister, is that ‘aha’ moment. something has brought some clarity to you so that you may move forwards in a much more positive way!

We are all, perhaps, been waving a fond farewell to something or a few things recently.. now, I feel, we are ready for the new future.

Interesting that watching and waiting rune, Isa, is symbolic of ice.. like something that is frozen awaiting change.. it is here..

2 Berkana - A Birch Tree

Femininity, Birth, Healing, Fertility, Regeneration

(Reversed)

We have all been struggling with completion on whatever transition we have been going through.. to me this tells me that our healing and regeneration is on its way to us.. we need to be receptive to it with our feminine energy for this to happen which is why it is reversed.

Yin/Yang energy. When I say feminine energy it is what we embody not ‘are’.. when I’m working I embody much masculine energy, Yang, doing, getting it sorted, alert, signifying earth and bright energy and procuring what I need to complete my tasks at hand. But I also use feminine energy, Yin, gentle, water signifying emotions, intuition and receptive energy when I need to listen and accept guidance before I set about doing the design needed. I need to always switch between one and the other in order to best liaise with understanding and flexibility for my clients.

We all incorporate both energies and use them differently perhaps with different groups of friends, different relatives or managers/clients.

This rune may also be advising that the lack of healing in your life, the lack of understanding and giving perhaps has led to a lot of introspection and changed within over the last few weeks or still needs to be addressed.

If you are broken-hearted know that healing is in your power to make peace with the situation in your own time.

Whatever is the source of your recent transformations, let them go, make your peace and change this rune to upright with hraling on its way.

3 Fehu - Livestock

Wealth, Abundance, Success, Security and Fertility

One of the first symbols of runes whereby Livestock was used as a form of status in ancient times (trading of Camels came to mind perhaps as was done in ancient Egypt).

There is abundance on its way to you. If retrograde has been a gruelling balancing act of keeping yourself afloat whilst trying to achieve your best.. your efforts were not in vain.

You may be expecting a child or fall pregnant, a windfall of money as an opportunity arrives or you receive communication by email, txt or phone call about it.. whatever you have set your heart on, it will be successful! Do not give up on your goals!

4 Blank - Odins Rune

The future is not set in stone (sorry, had to)

Interesting that a rune that is designated as choice and gives no direction on that.. falls before our last rune. To me, it is what you decide or choose now, that will lead you to your life path. It is a choice and there cannot be divine guidance on that which is particular to you and what you want in this case.

The big changes ahead is down to you which way to go or whether to choose a particular path for you or not. It is up to you so use your discernment to choose the best future for yourself!

If you are conflicted and find yourself already at this junction.. sit with your options and meditate on them. Then find yourself taking each option, rejecting the rest, going about your day with that option and note how you feel!.. then do the same to all other options.. there will be one that stands out to you as the one that will bring you the most happiness. This is the one to truly consider for your future!..

5 Ingwa - Seed

Goals, Growth, Common sense, The Hearth (home)

Whatever has been birthed by retrograde and your choices above with the BLANK rune, now (or you will make very soon) will change your life path and is so very positively aspected by this rune, Ingwa or seed! The planting of a seed of idea, life, situation, actual plant, work or home.. will blossom.. this is just the beginning.

This can also be the accomplishment of goals but it also states that it takes your own common sense to bring this about in your life.. but expect your situation to change in life.

If you are looking for work, then you will find the perfect job.. if you are looking for partnership in work or love relationships then you will find these in situations or organised events you attend.. if you wish to improve your home, this, too, shall be a change for the best for you.. if you wish to repair and strengthen bonds of friendship or a familial relationship you will be successful in doing this. Start at the beginning as they say when all we need is to start.. and then be patient to let the seed grow.

If the blank rune was you deciding what to bring into your life.. this rune says it will be positive for you in the long run and has scope to grow into abundance!

Just as I had gotten up off my bed where I’ve been carefully creating this reading I found this little guy on my return.. Gebo. And by its surprise appearance I would say there is a wonderful surprise coming up this month for you!

It could be a collaboration at work, with family or with your person. It is ultimately going to be an unexpected offer coming up for you.. please comment below if this resonates with you now or in future.
