The art of being.. I found that task to be a much harder action to take once I was diagnosed with cancer, before that when I lost my father to it and before that when I got divorced. Life throws you a curve ball and they always say, ‘it’s how you deal with it’.. true or not, I know this..
Firstly the name of this blog and why I chose this refers to my point.

Examples of the Kintsugi art: Screen grab from google search
Kintsugi (also known as Kintsukuroi) is, as per Alexa, ’the Japanese art of treating breakage and repair as part of the history of an object rather than something to be disguised‘.. the cracks are treated with gold/silver or platinum mixtures of glue & paint and are reformed and recreated in the most equisite elaborate pots, back to being whole again yet, somehow, made to look more beautiful because of its imperfections.
We are a reformed version of Kintsugi, put back together, proudly, with gold and silver glue.. and it isn’t down to how you dealt with the shit storm that hit your life at the time.. no.. it’s about how you yourself managed to fish yourself out of it and glue yourself back together. Stronger. That does not mean a good therapist wasn’t handy for you or that you didn’t need time out from work/life, that you didn’t struggle and have days where you simply didn’t want to face your day and opted for a duvet day.. or several. It just means you did all the hard work in the end and for however long it took you to get to where you are, you are more because of your journey, new hang-ups you are in the process of or have successfully ironed out, your strength in overcoming each of these hurdles makes you, today, more than you were yesterday. Human Kintsugi, as such, broken apart and put back together, with your own hands. The art of becoming and being; a true creator.
This post is more an introduction of how this blog will run. Positive vibrations and attitudes is something to be cultivated, I know this all too well! And guiding your brain to better thoughts and your body to rewarding activities like exercise and cooking good food, forming new relationships with others and with yourself & nature, well, they have been a life-saver for me.
Keep your eyes peeled or subscribe for more positive thoughts of the day!
But mostly, if you are like me, you are a pretty incredibly recomposed human and the quote, ‘it’s how you deal with it’ falls short of the journey you dealt with already, suffered cracks and breaks from, loss and yet are over the hurdles and today, stand here in this timely way, more beautiful than you ever have been!
Love and Light ☀️
