Today, on Ashram Monday’s, the message has been interesting and if this reading called to you, you are feeling or have been going through a period of confusion in your life. Know this.. it’s about to change.
From left to right we have the bottom of the deck, the Ace of Cups, The Moon, major arcana and The Queen of Wands and fire. I felt I needed to use this deck specifically today. It’s one of my favourites as each card has been illustrated by different artists though I haven’t used it in readings for a while.. by the artwork does leave it open to further interpretation.
When the card fell out of the deck while I was shuffling for one, The Moon was shining out at me and I was just thinking that I might have needed to pull a clarifier for it when I picked it up and the Queen of Wands fell out. I was then compelled to look at the bottom of the deck. Wow! Here’s what all this means for you today though bare in mind some of this may apply to you and some of it won’t as this is a general reading. But if you are a fire sign; Aries, Leo, Sagittarius or a water sign; Cancer, Scorpio or Pisces, then this reading may well have an extra message for you, someone you are dealing with or that you or some close to you embodies the energy these cards bring.
The Moon
The Moon. Piscean Card, all about intuition and confusion sometimes or about something we cannot see clearly, such as at night. The moon speaks clearly of lack of clarity.. strife at times.
Notice the crescent moon behind the depiction and the fact we are today experiencing the New Moon.. this can be timing related.. that things will clear up in a matter of days. The wolves behind the goddess pictured here are angry, fighting & in the dark while the female finger in the foreground is lit up, glowing, with pond like hair decorations and flow, a distaff in one hand where wool was thread to a spinning wheel and the other hand held up almost as if to hush herself from saying something or to keep herself from saying anything, silence.
The moon turns up today to confirm that you have indeed been going through confusing times as the card is a source of confusion whether a situation, a job, relationship or even a significant person in your life.
The Queen of Wands:
A fire sign woman, though gender is not something I use in a general reading. This is a person who is warm, passionate, higb temper but incredibly creative, someone who can dissolve conflict with charm and ease. This queen is mostly represented by Fire sign people, Aries, Leo or Sagittarius, but can represent yourself, or another man or woman in your life who embodied this energy. She is incredibly comfortable in her own skin, has ‘been there, and done that’ and worn the t-shirt.
She is depicted here with fire and magic, a dragon, no less, representing fire and perhaps an other worldly feel and dreadlocks for that nature, hippie approach to life.
If you or someone you know embodies this energy, there is a message in here for you.. but this queen, she is everything that is positive and oozes warmth and self-assurance.
The Ace of Cups:

The Ace of Cups is related to water signs, and its main message and number, ace as in 1, is all about beginnings. In a Rider Waite tarot deck the Ace of cups is represented by a diving hand holding an over flowing cup with water and where water represents emotions, this is very much an abundance of it. The conch shell depicted is over-flowing with water and inside the shell looks like the ocean, an vast amount of feelings. The pregnant cat like creature holding the shell in its hands is represented here by a god with a bright sunshine dawning in the background and indeed inside the shell!
Meaning
The Moon is about hidden agenda and messages, confusion and with the Ace of Cups at the bottom of the deck it feels that either yourself or someone has been unable to discuss your/their emotions openly. A lot of confusion has been present and the wish to extend that cup of love has been in the forefront of this person. Wanting a new emotional beginning has been somehow stopped, current climate included, but this could be a situation or significant other who have withheld how they’ve felt about you for a very long time. The moon means deep deep emotions.. more than just lust, it is about love that transpires logic, that one person that drives you mad and you can’t get out of your mind. This can also be your person, thinking obsessively about you, unable to tell you or do anything about it.
As the Queen of Wands was completely hidden by the moon it does feel more that there is a block in your fulfilment or the outcome of this situation. This Queen being incredibly self-assertive and in her own power, once clarity is brought to the situation you, your person will be in their full power, particularly if they are a fire sign.
Emotional clarity is coming in a big way!! Those waiting on a project that has been blocked, it is in your power to clear. Those who have been in uncertain relationship issues with someone who has not told you how they feel about you, well you standing in your power will no doubt make them clear the air for that super charged and abundant emotional start. You may simply be feeling stuck regarding accepting an offer coming your way.. and although now may not be the right time for this to be fully revealed and activated for you.. everything points to empowerment and being in control when the time is right! Hang in there.. be positive and if you are the one who has not reached out, then do. Get out of this stale mate.. you never know where it might lead you though silence gets you nowhere and the Queen of Wands.. she waits for nobody!! The moon blocks that emotional fulfilment for you now, but it will not be long until you are standing in your own power, and moving on!
